Leave No Man Behind

Hi Gang - I have attached an article that I wrote which I just submitted to our Communications Dept for the next APWU News Magazine. I know I don't usually send out my articles to APWU local and state organizations to garner support for an issue but this is a really important issue that has not received the attention it deserves from our legislators and frankly their attention on the subject is long overdue.

I have also sent the article to the AFL-CIO and the Union Veterans Council requesting that they support House Res 111 and I have asked that they forward the piece with my "Call-to-Action" to all of its National affiliates.

If you would be so kind as to publish it in your communications, post it on Union Bulletin Boards in all postal facilities, post it on union websites, send it to everyone on your email distribution lists inclusive of other local and state labor organizations and share it with pro-veteran organizations (is there any group that isn't pro-veteran?) we may just be able to get our government to enforce the contract it made with ALL of our US Service members and their families.

Rolling Thunder has been working hard on the initiative but understandably they are having trouble garnering support, more than likely because they supported the other team. But this issue isn't about a political affiliation, or being a red state or a blue state. This issue is about Americans who sacrificed their freedoms, and more than likely gave their lives for our freedoms. I figure if House Resolution 111 gets a big push from labor and friends of labor, it may just be the push our politicians need to be compelled to act. It's hard to ignore the voices of 15.3 million voting unionists.
